Help! (I need somebody!) *boogies*

Sooooooo my Photoshop teacher just gave us a new assignment which we have a month to work on. I want to do something INTENSE, otherwise I'm going to finish in a week, and that would make me sad.

I already did the zombie thing, so that's out.

I have to make a picture that's a narrative from a film or book with a twist; she said I could recreate a film shot, but I kind of want to do something awesome. I need help brainstorming movies.

I want something with a prominent subject that would require a lot of manipulation; I love working with faces and all that kind of stuff.

So if you can think of a movie or a book I should base it on, that'd be lovely, and I'd love you forever.

I might even drawn you powerpuffs. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Definitely Lord of the Rings. The movies are EPIC!
Also, it'd be cute to see Puff!Aragorn \o/

Hee, Lord of the Rings is my backup plan if I can't come up with anything else. :)

Book: Satanic Verses - juxtapose images of Saladin and Gibreel in their angel and devil manifestations... Rushdie is the MAN.

Movie: Or a scene from Boondock Saints, like where they're kissing the feet of the crucifix.

It would be supremely awesome to try and do an angel/devil parallel, and that would look very nice on the large scale she wants us to work on. Unfortunately I've not read that book, but I may be able to come up with something in the same vein. Thanks for the idea!

I can give you a really brief synopsis, and suggest that you read the book at a later date because it's FRIGGIN OUTSTANDING. Rushdie actually describes them really well, if I can find the parts I'll either post them or email them to you. It looks like they're omitted from preview on Google Books. Saladin has massive horns and a tail and glowing eyes and an enormous erect penis. Of course, I'd remember that description most clearly heh.

Book: Boy's Life by Robert McCammon
There are so many excerpts I could send you that would be awesome, but this one would be awesome to base a manip off:

"When I was twelve years old, the world was my magic lantern, and by its green spirit glow I saw the past, the present, and into the future. You probably did too; you just don't recall it. See, this is my opinion: we all start out knowing magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us. We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds and see our destiny in grains of sand."

(It continues, saying "But then we get the magic educated right out of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out. We get put on the straight and narrow and told to be responsible. Told to act our age. Told to grow up, for God's sake. And you know why we were told that? Because the people doing the telling were afraid of our wildness and youth, and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad of what they'd allowed to wither in themselves." but I figured just that first part was good. I included this because there is so much you could do with either of these bits.)

I'm not giving you any movies because I think the book way sounds more fun. Also, the only ones I can think of are ones you haven't seen. Hahaha.

PHOTOSHOP HEADLESS PEOPLE, CARRYING THE CORPSES OF BABIES.

Is it you who draws the powerpuffs? Because [livejournal.com profile] adelate sent me a letter (from Finland) and inside she had folded up a picture of tiny powerpuff-looking Sam and Dean wearing scarves. Although...maybe they're not powerpuffs...I'm suddenly doubting myself.

I suggest Fight Club for just about anything. I'm not sure it would actually work for you, but that's my suggestion. :)
