I JUST HAD A REALLY REALLY AWESOME SPOILERTASTIC THOUGHT.
Ok ok ok ok. So this is the episode that was kept pretty heavily under wraps, and the only thing we knew was that Anna was going to be in it.
Well Dean is torturing Alastair to get information about who is killing the angels. That means that it's probably not Alastair. What if it can't even be a demon.
What if it's Anna?
All my dreams will come true. Dude I would LOVE her if she were being manipulative and creepy. I don't know if anyone understands how fast I would jump on that bandwagon.
But what if that's the thing about Lucifer's sword? It can't be wielded by a demon so they're getting outside help. It can't be just a straight-up demon killing angels. They'd never consent to let Dean torture Alastair unless they honestly didn't have a clue what was going on, and I'm thinking Lilith or Alastair would be their first guess anyway and.
COME ON, KRIPKE! DON'T LET ME DOWN!
Dude, that'd break Dean, too. SEE! IT FITS! This is so the least cracky of all my recent crack theories and it brings me JOY.
Is it Thursday yet?

Date: 2009-03-16 04:21 pm (UTC)It would be interesting, I guess. I would just have a really hard time believing whatever set-up they used. And I thought the whole secret that breaks Dean was gonna be the "righteous man" thing from the latest promo. But maybe not.
I don't even know. I can't even guess anymore with this show. lol Would I have ever guessed that it was Castiel who called them and not Bobby in the last episode? Pffft. No. I just want it to be Thursday already.
By the way, I MISS YOU.

Date: 2009-03-16 10:14 pm (UTC)I'd love for this to happen, I hate that I get the feeling Anna is supposed to be the only truly good character on the Show. Everyone, EVERYONE, from the angels and demons to Dean and Sam themselves have such a moral greyness about them that Anna doesn't fit into the entire theme and mood of the season unless she too has a dark side. And I can see her doing it, out of fear if nothing else, out of a desire to survive, which is after all, the only reason she got her grace back. Not to rejoin the fight or protect Sam and Dean (they didn't need protecting until they brought Alastair into the picture, so it's her fault they got into trouble in the first place, selfish much?) but just because she didn't want to die. So I can see her killing angels in a thoroughly selfish 'me or them' kind of way.
All I know is, there's no other character cast for this episode, and since we can be pretty damn sure it ain't Sam or Dean, and Alastair's been captive so it can't be him, and Castiel is clearly still fighting the good fight, that leaves Ruby, Uriel or Anna as the killer.
(Also, I'd like to think the whole conversation with Castiel is her trying to win him over, or better yet, him trying to trap her into admitting to something.)
Besides, if it's not any of the above, then why is she in the freakin' episode anyway??? What possible cause could she serve that Sam and Castiel couldn't? So she's supposedly on Dean's side, but shouldn't Sam and Castiel alone be able to reach the appropriate conclusion without miss I'm-a-big-angel-traitor-but-I'm-still-holier-than-thou there to prod them along? I'd rather see Castiel's doubts shaken by Sam and Dean than Anna.
*le sigh*
It would be nice, wouldn't it.....
de-lurking for the day
Date: 2009-03-17 03:09 am (UTC)I hate to agree but you are right; she's most likely back to convince Castiel to help Dean, which makes Castiel look real bad in my eye IMO or just plain stupid. I would love for her to have another reason other than stating the obvious to Castiel who should be a lot smarter but I don't think that is going to happen.
