So, as many people could possibly have guessed, I was at the Supernatural Con in Chicago last weekend. (Has it really already been that long? Wow.) It was my first con, and I didn't think it would happen mostly because me and
randomfangirl29 were joking about going. Then our talks turned serious right around the time my mom told me I couldn't go to Comic-Con 2008, and I started telling our fangirl friends we were going.
The first I told was Sabrina. Now. You have to understand something about Sabrina; she loves Supernatural, but she calls us obsessive fangirls. Which we are. But she doesn't obsess over the boys like we do, or she does and won't admit it. I believe the latter, but she'll deny it til the apocalypse. So I told her over our Wednesday lunch that we were planning to go up to Chicago, and were trying to find other things to do up there to round out the weekend. She got
really excited, and asked if she could come, and I was a little taken aback... haha! I never would've seen it coming. Honestly. She was also interested in their video project, and said she'd help me come up with any idea.
Then there's my roommate (Dayna) and our friend who lives across the hall (Megan). We started out the school year having DVD marathons of Roswell, the second season of which was particularly enjoyable [/random plug]. After we finished with that, I had all the DVDs from
randomfangirl29 to start capping for our video, so we started watching them. And one day Sabrina was over and we were discussing the video, and mentioned the con, and
they were interested. So... it was a ginormous, convoluted snowball that we ended up going at all. :D
The event we "rounded out" our Chicago weekend with was
Wicked. It's been ridiculously forever since I've been to any type of play, and this was by far the best I've ever seen. The production was fantastic, and the singers were fantastic, and the COSTUMES. OH MY. SERIOUSLY. So... yeah. We went to that on Saturday night right after we got to Chicago... we didn't go to both days of the con because we're poor college students, and
randomfangirl29's mom bought our tickets (THANK YOU MRS. HAY! A MILLION BILLION TIMES, YO.) I've watched all the videos from that night, though, and it looked like it was awesome. :D
When we went to the con on Sunday, we got there at about... 8:00AM? We pretended to be in the Photo Op line for about 3 seconds, then decided food and caffeine were required for continued funcitioning because pretty much everyone but myself had gone to Denny's at about 2:00AM for dinner. Suckers. x) I was so tired that I almost got coffee, but then cooler heads prevailed and I got Mountain Dew and a cinnamon roll to split with Sabrina. Oh, such good times.
After and even a small bit during breakfast, we went out into the main hallway to watch the fangirls coming out of the photo ops (highly amusing), and ogle people's really awesome shirts. This one guy at an awesome Metallicar shirt, but we only saw him once and didn't get a chance to ask him where he got it. I can only hope to see it someday and buy it for my very own. <3
Then we sat outside the area where J2 would be talking for a little while. I stared at my amazing Batman boots that Sabrina made for me (pictures soon, I promise!), and we made a tiny video of utmost stupidity. We entertained ourselves until they started showing some of the video contest winners, and apparently they showed our video a long time after we left... but we still don't know if we won anything or not because the rules were fuzzy. I continue to hold out hope, though. XD;
Plates! We need plates! *cough*
But yeah. The boys were highly entertaining. And apparently also so in Iraq. Which I found interesting. I won't go into too much detail because there are videos all over the place that say more than I ever could on my own. Very funny. Hope to see again at Comic-Con. *crosses fingers*
So... fun was had by all. Good times. :) This week has been fairly uneventful, and I'm really tired and also in class, so... I'm gonna go back to taking notes. Whoo!
