Maybe this class isn't so bad...

Okay, so my art class is the worst art class I've ever had. That doesn't mean I wasn't able to get some serious practice in whilst putting up with the nonsense. It was also much more structured than my Independent Study class in high school. So that's nice. I just hope next semester's 3D class is ok... ah well.
Anyway, my sketchbook is in my room as I'm supposed to be working on a self-portrait for Thursday, so I took some crappy webcam pics to share with the world!
So here's the fruits of the past month (we've finally started drawing things other than lines *repeated headdesk*), which I'm sort of proud of. :)

I came in the day we drew this, and she was like "Take off your shoes! Whee!" My feet were in these shoes with no socks and it wasn't pretty, so I left one shoe on to lessen the horror, and... drew my feet. I'm really bad at feet, charcoal, and foreshortening, so this was an awesome practice for me. :) I came back to the dorm, and told my roommate I had finally had fun in art class. We did a dance. It was nice. :)

It seems every art class I'm ever in, we end up going to the cemetery. It's kind of morbid, but I like it there. :) I love drawing water, and I love oil pastels, so it's really not surprising that I finished this in an hour and twiddled my thumbs for the next 30 minutes until the girl who drove us there decided we'd been there long enough. Good times.

And, for scientific purposes, my self-portrait. It looks nothing like me, and she made us do that terrible background in class by "writing a stream of consciousness". Whatever. I wrote Regina Spektor lyrics and also about Supernatural. Don't tell anyone. *cough* I'm thinking about adding some Metallica lyrics to the bottom to keep this "at least I'm attempting to draw real people" thing going. This one might be Fade to Black. Anyway, my roommate just walked by and told me I had skills, so... my ego is inflated for the night. XD; I'll have to show these to Sabrina so she can take me down 3 or 5 pegs.
This concludes our nerdery for this evening. Thank you, and Good Night.
