I know basically everyone on my flist is here because I ramble on about Supernatural and make cracky icons, but I need to rant about this.... this....... *grumbles*

Mass Effect is being turned into a movie.

Nevermind the fact that the game pretty much was a movie... It was the most cinematic thing I've ever played, and the story lends itself to making a movie it's just that... it already WAS one.

Not to mention the fact that they'll probably make Commander Shepard a guy rather than a girl, which is just a waste of a potentially badass female main character. It also means Ashley will be around more (and she's really annoying), and Kaidan will probably not be around much, and I will weep for new!Carth. Btw, tahu recently discovered why the two of us are so attached to Castiel: he's like a real-live Carth. He just doesn't fly a spaceship. :D *votes Misha Collins for Kaidan in this movie*

What? If they're gonna make it anyway, they may as well make it enjoyable. :D

I just don't think that the aliens can be done in a believable way, nor can the massive scale on which this game took place be condensed down into a movie. And I love you, Bioware. I do. But please just keep making games. Mass Effect is supposed to have a sequel! Work on that! And while you're at it, make sure KotOR 3 comes out for Xbox and isn't an MMO. Please.

Ooh... Live-action!Garrus. You know what? Maybe this won't all be bad. *starts casting the game in her head*

But seriously. Why this and not KotOR? Why did frigging Attack of the Clones get made, and not KotOR? Live-action Knights of the Old Republic Movie would've made MILLIONS. And this is just from Carth alone. It's the best Star Wars story ever, and yeah, I'm including the original trilogy in there. Deal with it. It's true. :)

Oh I know, but haven't you heard that they're making KotOR 3 an MMO? I would weep for DAYS if this came to pass.

Also, you should get Mass Effect when you get the chance. It's almost like playing KotOR again, just with a different storyline and no lightsabers. Even the characters are similar. Even Carth whines the whole damn time and makes you want to kill him. :D

the hell would it work it wouldnt beanything like the other two games !!! GRRR i havnt heard this at all the last i read about it was in a game informer a couple months ago where they were like LOL NOPE STILL NO NEWS

and ohhh yeah ive heard its reallygreat, my sister and her boyfriend love it and they have good taste in video games so yeah maybe ill get the next chance i get

I don't really know too much about the games that are out there since I don't play them anymore but I do know that I hate when the dumbass movie industry takes something that the fans hold dear and turn it into big box office crap. So I do feel for you *hugs*

Although I will say that there is a good chance that they will keep the main character a woman. I mean look at Tomb Raider. They kept a woman in the lead. I think Angelina Jolie did a pretty good job with it too.

When will the movie industry learn that games are not a good place to find stories? *sigh*

And I'm doubtful the main character will be a woman because in the game, you can play as either a guy or a girl, and they used the guy in pretty much all of their promotion. So... :/
