I know basically everyone on my flist is here because I ramble on about Supernatural and make cracky icons, but I need to rant about this.... this....... *grumbles*

Mass Effect is being turned into a movie.

Nevermind the fact that the game pretty much was a movie... It was the most cinematic thing I've ever played, and the story lends itself to making a movie it's just that... it already WAS one.

Not to mention the fact that they'll probably make Commander Shepard a guy rather than a girl, which is just a waste of a potentially badass female main character. It also means Ashley will be around more (and she's really annoying), and Kaidan will probably not be around much, and I will weep for new!Carth. Btw, [livejournal.com profile] tahu recently discovered why the two of us are so attached to Castiel: he's like a real-live Carth. He just doesn't fly a spaceship. :D *votes Misha Collins for Kaidan in this movie*

What? If they're gonna make it anyway, they may as well make it enjoyable. :D

I just don't think that the aliens can be done in a believable way, nor can the massive scale on which this game took place be condensed down into a movie. And I love you, Bioware. I do. But please just keep making games. Mass Effect is supposed to have a sequel! Work on that! And while you're at it, make sure KotOR 3 comes out for Xbox and isn't an MMO. Please.

Ooh... Live-action!Garrus. You know what? Maybe this won't all be bad. *starts casting the game in her head*

But seriously. Why this and not KotOR? Why did frigging Attack of the Clones get made, and not KotOR? Live-action Knights of the Old Republic Movie would've made MILLIONS. And this is just from Carth alone. It's the best Star Wars story ever, and yeah, I'm including the original trilogy in there. Deal with it. It's true. :)

So..... I made the greatest icon ever, y/y?

*loves Jensen and his dorky, dorky helmet more than words can say*

Today, me and Dayna ate waffles. :) She's having some roommate troubles, and asked if I wanted to maybe get a house together next semester. I'm sincerely doubting I'm going to have a job by then, but it'd be awesome if it happened... Heh. She also wanted to drive up to Chicago for the SPN Con again... are they still selling tickets even? I have no idea.

I've been trying to record myself playing a vaguely-country-ish Amanda Palmer's "Astronaut" on my ukulele just because of how awesome I am. Unfortunately, I fail at playing ukulele well under pressure. Alas. I'm going to keep trying, I just don't know if it's going to happen.

On the vidding front, I hate getting clips for my video. That's the part that takes up all my time. :/ It sucks, cause I really want to spend some time on the special effects, but I'm not going to have time if I can't get enough clips to fill out the minute and a half. Alas. Woe is me. *pines*

I've been busy arting, but it's been mostly Mass Effect stuff. I'm really proud of it, though, and it's all been completely computer-based, so I'm picking up better lineart-making skills with my tablet. It's still a rough ride, though, because shaking is one of those things I can't seem to stop doing.

Without further ado, Mass Effect art! )

I hate myself. I have to work tomorrow morning, then watch magical movies all day and make pie, and then get all excited for birthdayly activities with [livejournal.com profile] randomfangirl29, and I CANNOT SLEEP. At all. Blegh.

I was sick all day Saturday, but I'm perfectly fine now. Who knows. I've kind of been sick off and on since I got back from Mexico, but this definitely has nothing to do with that.

Nope, this probably has everything to do with the awesomeness that is Mass Effect. )

But in the end, the only complaint I'm going to end up having about this game is that it isn't KotOR 3. The graphics are so amazing, and they've got the conversation system down to a science. So why does KotOR 3 have to be an MMO?! I demand answers, Bioware. *sigh*

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] tahu introduced me to the idea of learning Carry On Wayward Son on my ukulele. This is totally going to happen. I simply can't decide between slow/painfully-angsty or fast/super-peppy. Or I could play it like Kansas, but where's the fun in that. :P

I'm at the pizza place my family usually goes to just about every night of the week. Honestly. We're in a rut. And have problems?

So anyways. The other day I was downloading Metallica songs (something that I find ironically fun and delightful), and I accidentally got some covers... some like... Banjo covers. They're fantastic, and hick-ish, and... if you've never heard Ride the Lightning in that fashion, your life is truly lacking.

So this weekend, we had Rock Band in our dorm room, and we rocked. We rocked so loud, and so hard, that people actually came into the room to check on us. I guess when I sing Radiohead, I sound like a dying cat. Or something. Regardless, my voice is manlier than Thom Yorke's; whether it's good or bad, who knows. :)

I have to write a paper on Oedipus this week, and finish reading Al Gore's "The Assault on Reason". Pretty much, I love college. :)

Tomorrow, Dayna's birthday lunch at Malone's, and Monday, CLOVERFIELD. So no spoilers. I'm already surrounded by people who've seen it as it is. :P

I've gone off and uploaded a ton of icons (I still don't have a badass one. Surely I need a badass one?), and a mood theme. Tomorrow (Or more accurately, next week)? Layout! And a somewhat-kind-of-friends-only header. And a header-header. *will be busy* :D

I think I'm dying my hair tomorrow. With black cherry kool-aid. No, I shan't be dissuaded. Bwahaha, ha ha ha ha, haha ha ha. *cough*

Everyone else is asleep already. I mean, seriously? What is it, not even 2AM yet! I live with a bunch of pansies.

I went back to my dorm room today, cause they just opened up again, and hooked up my Xbox. My old Xbox, who henceforth shall be known as Dustin. I've got all my RPGs, and a stockpile of caffeine. Between that and studying, I don't think I'll ever have a reason to get out of the room or be sociable. :D Glee! *cough* I did bring a couple party games, but when everyone else has Guitar Hero, you really can't compete. Oh, Mass Effect, I pine for you!

Also, I came up with an evil plan for the summer! I shall get a job at the new "Malone's" that's opening within walking distance from my house. I love that restaurant, and I'm gonna at least see if they'll hire me for the summer. I'm betting my break will coincide with their opening, so... yeah! I should be able to get a bit of a job this summer, and close to home to boot! Yay, not paying for gas money!

In closing, about all this craziness going around about Supernatural's imminent demise or whatever it is at this point, an open letter to Fandom-at-Large:

Can we please just wait this out? They haven't canceled us, we're still on the air for sweeps, and we have a large fanbase/are getting reviewed favorably quite a bit lately. I don't think it's time to call fire from above down onto the blasphemy that is Reaper and its audacity to take our spot. The network is experimenting, which they have every right to do. To be honest, I don't generally watch the reruns anyway. Yes, we're like the only show that was removed in this schedule, but it's not the end of the world. I'm fairly certain I saw an article that said "Life is Wild" isn't scheduled for a return, while Supernatural is. So, there. I'm not for sure, and I may have just invented that, but eesh. Calm down! Watch your DVDs, read the Guide to Season 1 that your friend got you for Christmas (Yay! :D), and get around to editing your contest entries for Making the Cut.

Yeah, that's right. We're one of the shows the network is having adverts made for in that contest. Reaper isn't. So cool your jets, and stop this intense hating on the network. I don't think it's going to make them look on us with any more favor.

Maybe a bit too calmly,
- Sara

I got a new phone last night. His name is Charles and he makes sparkly noises and sparkles and is purple. He is also much thinner than my old phone, and fits in my pocket. He can also apparently play mp3s as ringtones, unlike my old phone. My old phone didn't even have a name. It was that crappy. Oh, yes.

My mom and brother got iPhones. I could've had it instead of my brother, but I decided that I 1) already spend way too much time online and 2) it would probably get stolen/lost/destroyed and then where would I be? Weeping. In a corner. That's where.

But anyways, we switched to AT&T, and I have unlimited text messaging, and all that stuff. For the first time ever. So. Let us all join together and talk incessantly. :D

I really haven't done too much productive thus far on my Christmas break; I cleaned my closet out yesterday, but that was only to find my Batman costume. I found my t-shirt, but the pants aren't as baggy as I thought they were, so... I'm not sure if the t-shirt is gonna work. I may use a tank top instead. I don't know yet. Regardless, I'll have a cape, so... yeah. You really can't go wrong if you put a cape over something.

Oh, I'm so incredibly hyper. I should play Oblivion. Or piano. Or Eugene (who needs to be tuned). Or work on my flash movie.

Also, Rock Band tomorrow. Yeah, that's right; tomorrow. Probably around 11:30AM EST, you'll hear a shout ring out from the land, and lo the masses will sing "Enter Sandman", and all shall be well. (Harmonix 2:38, KJV)

Unfortunately, that'll probably take a huge bite out of my productivity, especially in regards to working on the Puffchesters. Also, my scanner doesn't work. How's a girl supposed to do productive art-related things in this world of Rock Band and scanner-less-ness?!

Honestly, I don't know.

So I did none of the things I set out to do yesterday when I got home. I helped my mom grocery shop, then went home to bother my brother and play my ukulele. After dinner, we kept joking about going to Best Buy to play Rock Band[1], and somewhere along the line, we stopped joking.

So I got behind the wheel of the Prism for the first time in a month, and blasted Led Zeppelin the whole way there[2]. It was delightful. We also parked in the boonies and ran skipping the entire way in[3].

When we first got there, there were two girls playing, so I sidled up to the drums and started rocking not realizing they were on lefty flip. So... that was an interesting experience. It did totally feel backwards, but it's really not all that much different and I wonder slightly why they have that option in there...? But anyways, the kick pedal on the drum is broken, so it's very hard to play songs with kick pedal in them if the people playing the guitars can't get any star power to save you. *cough, cough*

So the fun didn't really kick in until Nick got up there with the guitar, and this other guy came along and played bass. Nick had a cheat code that unlocked all the songs, so we played a few that we never had, and a good time was generally had by all. :)

Then the crazy started to happen. I turned around on the drums and saw a little kid standing there, so I asked him if he wanted to play[4]. Then I joked that I'd sing. Little did I know, they actually have the microphone hooked up, and Nick knew how to make it work.

So he made me sing.

In public.

Because he's a jerk.

Now, let's get one thing straight. I don't sing. It's because I know I can't. That's the reason my Tribute movie was such an incredibly horrible task; it's embarrassing for me to think about and/or let other people watch. So singing live in front of other people on a stupid video game really sucks.

Except it totally doesn't. :D

I loved it. We started out with "Say It Ain't So", and I was really nervous and angry and couldn't find a comfortable place to sing it, so it was a little awkward. But then we played "Don't Fear (The Reaper)" and I just got into the cowbell. x)

So before we left, I made Nick play Enter Sandman one more time. And I threw my hood up over my head, and told him if he saw anyone we knew to let me know so we could run[5], and I belted out "Enter Sandman".

And I have never had so much fun in my life.

Footnotes: (Yeah, I'm being this dorky again. :D)
1) Yeah, we seriously go hang out at Best Buy to play a game that we own but my mother won't give him until his birthday. I'm trying desperately to work the gas money angle, but it's not working. e.x;
2) Me:"They played this song at their concert, too!"
Nick: Mmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmm..... *changes music to Metallica*
3) Singing "Enter Sandman" at this point. Nick had been saying someone had unlocked it on the game at Best Buy, so I was a little excited. :D
4) Hey, I'm not about to get eviscerated by a small, creepy child just because he didn't get to play Rock Band. I've watched too many TV shows/movies with evil children to underestimate them. *shudders*
5) Seriously, we live in the smallest city ever. I had no idea until this past summer, a girl from school wrote on my Facebook wall about seeing me ride my bike down the street. That's frightening.

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

*blares music because now it doesn't matter if she gets kicked out of the dorm, because OMG FINIIIIISHED!!!!!*

I finished at around 1:30 with my last final, and I've gotten everything packed since then. I'm ready to go home and play some serious Shivering Isles on my dad's new tv, sing ridiculouly stupid songs, and play the piano for the first time in forever. Oh, it shall be grand. I've just gotten a bunch of Yann Tierson sheet music and my heart is in its happy place.

Also, after Christmas, I'll be starting a rock band with my roommate because she's bringing her guitar back. Oh yes. We will ROCK. We don't exactly have a name yet, but seriously. I have a ukulele I sort of know how to play, and she has a guitar she hasn't played in two years, but we will make beautiful music together. And joy shall resound from every hilltop.

I may even play Knights of the Old Republic again. Or Fable! I bought Fable the other day! How do I forget these things? $10, yo! That's why they call it the Bargain Bin. :) *vaguely wishes it was Mass Effect*

In closing, I love wearing skirts to finals. And patterned tights. Because I am insane. <3

We officially have Rock Band. Suffice it to say, that at my time of last posting, I had been informed by my mother, whilst it was my father who actually got the game. Unfortunately, the game is for my brother.

For his birthday.

His birthday that isn't until the 23rd of December.

Please kill me now before I die of the anticipation. Don't get me wrong; I'm totally going to join my parents in the mind-games, but... Really, now. More than a month? I go back to school at some point, ya know. Argh. La la la.

I'm in a seriously musical mood lately. Guess I'll just have to start my own rock band with Eugene and my piano. Which totally needs a name; then we could feel like a real band. :)

I think I'll call us the "Viking Kittens". Or "The Ugly Octopi". Or "Pervaphobic".
