I hate myself. I have to work tomorrow morning, then watch magical movies all day and make pie, and then get all excited for birthdayly activities with [livejournal.com profile] randomfangirl29, and I CANNOT SLEEP. At all. Blegh.

I was sick all day Saturday, but I'm perfectly fine now. Who knows. I've kind of been sick off and on since I got back from Mexico, but this definitely has nothing to do with that.

Nope, this probably has everything to do with the awesomeness that is Mass Effect. First, the good: Seth Green (his character wears a baseball cap), Carth Mark II (sexiest voice in the world BAR NONE), and my character is a total badass. She's actually so awesome and hardcore that sometimes I get caught up in the moment and make the "Renegade" choices rather than the "Paragon" ones. I'm supposed to play through all light-sided because my brother is being evil. Stupid Xbox achievements. *sigh*

Anyways, that leaves us with the crack/bad. The bad is that this game is more like an FPS with an RPG-style story/leveling system. Which means I have to aim. I fail so hard at aiming with that stupid Xbox controller that it isn't even funny. Dude, this is why I don't play FPSes on anything but a PC; no mouse. So... the difficulty is a little more for me because of my lack of fine motor skills. But! I will overcome this, and I love the squad tactics thing (I get to tell Carth II what do to! Like to go stand in front of me so I can stare at his pixelly butt, HOORAY! *cough*)

But then... there's the crack. This game's soundtrack was ripped directly from the first Terminator movie. There is some seriously bad synth music going on. Also, the text in the intro was straight from the 80s. What is this madness? It's a futuristic game! But I love every mind-numbing minute of it because it just makes the game all that more hilarious.

But in the end, the only complaint I'm going to end up having about this game is that it isn't KotOR 3. The graphics are so amazing, and they've got the conversation system down to a science. So why does KotOR 3 have to be an MMO?! I demand answers, Bioware. *sigh*

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] tahu introduced me to the idea of learning Carry On Wayward Son on my ukulele. This is totally going to happen. I simply can't decide between slow/painfully-angsty or fast/super-peppy. Or I could play it like Kansas, but where's the fun in that. :P

I vote yes on this Kansas ukulele business.

My brother bought Mass Effect, but apparently the game has a bug that makes it incompatible with his graphics card, so he cried tears of manly disappointment and is going to return it.

It was around 3AM here; I think I'm insane. XDD *is currently at work slinging back as much caffeine as possible*

And I'm so sorry for your brother's manly disappointment! If it makes it any better I had to wait practically a year to buy this game, and I only have til the 24th to try and beat it (so not going to happen, XD).

Tomorrow will probably involve massive amounts of caffeine and adventures of some sort I'm sure, so you're not allowed to die before then.

Mmmm, carth. I love your sexy voice. :O

I don't know why, but your mood icon makes me laugh.

And also: I'm with you on the whole xBox controller thing. DAMN THEM.
DAMN THEM TO HELL.

I miss the simple 6-button(a, b, y, x, l, r) SNES. :[
IT WAS SO SIMPLE.
But a mouse is always good, too. Made KotOR and Oblivion really easy. (I'm pretty good at rapid clicking IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF.) I just had to pay attention because I guess my hand drifts to the right? And my chatracters would end up walking in circles, lol. :B

Yeah, I can't use a controller at ALL to point and aim; I'm awesome at it on the PC, but I have zero hand-eye coordination on the Xbox, and that's even with the y-axis inversion turned on. MADNESS.

I also just like turn-based combat so I can use my powers of strategery, but... Oh well. Carth more than makes up for it. :) Actually, I think Mass Effect is out for PC now. Perhaps I should've gotten it for that. I think I'm incredibly stupid. OH WELL. :D

You know... On this page at the top of my browser it says "Close the doors, put out the light - To tired to sleep." And I find that ironic. :V

Yeah. I definitely like strategy better than point and shoot. On games like that my brother and I make a good team because I can solve the puzzles and figure out what to do next but he can do all the shooting. xDD

Yes perhaps. Maybe you can return it and get the PC version? :C
