Too tired to sleep

I hate myself. I have to work tomorrow morning, then watch magical movies all day and make pie, and then get all excited for birthdayly activities with [livejournal.com profile] randomfangirl29, and I CANNOT SLEEP. At all. Blegh.

I was sick all day Saturday, but I'm perfectly fine now. Who knows. I've kind of been sick off and on since I got back from Mexico, but this definitely has nothing to do with that.

Nope, this probably has everything to do with the awesomeness that is Mass Effect. First, the good: Seth Green (his character wears a baseball cap), Carth Mark II (sexiest voice in the world BAR NONE), and my character is a total badass. She's actually so awesome and hardcore that sometimes I get caught up in the moment and make the "Renegade" choices rather than the "Paragon" ones. I'm supposed to play through all light-sided because my brother is being evil. Stupid Xbox achievements. *sigh*

Anyways, that leaves us with the crack/bad. The bad is that this game is more like an FPS with an RPG-style story/leveling system. Which means I have to aim. I fail so hard at aiming with that stupid Xbox controller that it isn't even funny. Dude, this is why I don't play FPSes on anything but a PC; no mouse. So... the difficulty is a little more for me because of my lack of fine motor skills. But! I will overcome this, and I love the squad tactics thing (I get to tell Carth II what do to! Like to go stand in front of me so I can stare at his pixelly butt, HOORAY! *cough*)

But then... there's the crack. This game's soundtrack was ripped directly from the first Terminator movie. There is some seriously bad synth music going on. Also, the text in the intro was straight from the 80s. What is this madness? It's a futuristic game! But I love every mind-numbing minute of it because it just makes the game all that more hilarious.

But in the end, the only complaint I'm going to end up having about this game is that it isn't KotOR 3. The graphics are so amazing, and they've got the conversation system down to a science. So why does KotOR 3 have to be an MMO?! I demand answers, Bioware. *sigh*

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] tahu introduced me to the idea of learning Carry On Wayward Son on my ukulele. This is totally going to happen. I simply can't decide between slow/painfully-angsty or fast/super-peppy. Or I could play it like Kansas, but where's the fun in that. :P
