Wow... I can't believe I move in on Sunday. And it's Thursday. And I haven't even packed.

I have, however, been running around with my former-roommate, Dayna, who got back in town a few days ago. We're making plans to go see Hamlet 2, and maybe go to the special hell (I hear it's nice there this time of year?), as well as making ridiculously long trips to Walmart. Honestly. Either buy a skillet, or don't; we need to keep the train a-movin', and can't afford to stay in one aisle for more than 20 minutes OMG.

Ok, I think I'm done.

In other news, I dyed my hair, and am almost finished with Mass Effect. I love the former (It's red! Bright, semi-natural-looking red! HOORAH!), but I've begun to begrudge the latter. I don't know... It's not grabbing me the same way KotOR and Jade Empire did, and I think that's because it's so open. I literally don't know what to do with myself. I think part of the problem is that I don't have enough time to sink 30 hours in, so I feel like I'm rushing through it just so I can start to draw and read fanfic. At least I'm getting better at this FPS-style combat. GO ME. \o/

I also still have a ridiculous amount of art to upload--that stuff from Mexico, and a whole lot of Mass Effect sketchings. I should probably get that taken care of tonight. AghGHHGHGHG I'M SO SCATTERED. O.O

In conclusion, a few links for your perusal. I'm bored, at work, with only Reddit to entertain me. You've been warned.

Michael Phelps Returns to His Tank At Sea World. Sometimes I love The Onion.

The Smart Car Batmobile. It has fins! :D (WAAAAAAANT)

Aaaaand a Ghostfacers interview from Comic-Con, because [livejournal.com profile] tahu needs to see this. :)

Well, Mr. Jim Beaver, [livejournal.com profile] randomfangirl29, and myself have had a wonderful day. Of course, I'm just assuming about the first one, but nonetheless. Awesome day. :) The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I wore my Batman-cape and ran in crazy circles. Also, Michael Phelps has been on my TV all night. And he is very awesome.

My mom told me she couldn't believe I was 19 already. I just told her that I couldn't believe she bought me Batman bedsheets for my 19th birthday. I love her. <3

And I love y'all, Flist! <33333

I must post this first.

1) The Dark Knight is called that for a reason. My heart started racing at the beginning of this movie, and it did not stop. Everything I ever hoped for and dreamed of was in this movie. I simply want to know when I can see it again. (We were one of only two groups dressed up, too. WTF, PEOPLE IN MY FAIRLY SMALL TOWN. I DEMAND MORE FROM YOU.)

2) OMG WATCHMEN TRAILER = PERFECTION!!!!

3) OMG SPN SPOILARRSSSS!!! That are mildly unverified because I got them second hand and couldn't be bothered to look them up myself. But <3. <333333333333333

4) We made it to IHOP. Pancakes are my new true love.

5) It's official, I sound like James Hetfield.

Of these three shirts, which one should I get? )

So, yes. Re: My Prior Poll, I don't think I'm going to re-dye my hair. Yes, this is my answer to your overwhelming votes telling me to do just the opposite. I just... I think I'd rather let it fade and move on to red by the time the school year starts, and I do love the shade it's at right now, and it's so much WORK to get the stains out of the bathtub when I do it, and SCREW IT. I will dye someone else's hair and live vicariously through them or something.

I've been working on Batman costumes all day, and the little secondary spool of thread (I have no idea of the technical terms; I'm still very new to this whole sewing thing) ran out and I can't figure out how to restring it because I misplaced the instructions. I'm quite certain Sabrina is going to beat the crap out of me when I ask her to come over and help me tomorrow, but my stuff is all coming along so nicely, and my shirt looks AWESOME so I'm not sure I could be bothered. :) I'm still trying to decide whether or not I need more pockets on the back of my utility belt (they won't show, and I think I can fit my keys and phone into the front ones), but other than that, it's full speed ahead to the 18th. I'm so very excited. So, so very exited.

Finally, we get to my (only slightly spoilery) thoughts on Indiana Jones )

Now that that's out of the way, I'm starting to get seriously worried about finishing my Batman costume. It really needs some work; the utility belt hasn't even been started. I really need to get to the store to buy some kind of fabric for the pouches, and maybe some clasps. I also need to work on scalloping my cape so it's more Batman-y. Not to mention I need to make my shirt. Yeah... my costume's going just fine. *headdesk*

Oh! Last night two delightful things happened. :)

I GOTS NEW SHOES! )

I loooooooooove them. They were $18 (I <3 75% off sales), and full of <3333333. I had a black pair like this a little while ago, but one of the shoes was too big. I don't know why. These are a size 9, which is a size smaller than I usually wear, but... whatever! I don't care! Shoes! HOORAY. *ignores the fact that she is 6'0" tall in any heels at all, and just goes with it*

And oh, yeah, I popped my knee out of the joint and then back in. O.O I've always had knee problems, but its never... slid around like that... it was weird, it hurt a ton, and I hope to never repeat the experience. It's still really sore this morning, and I'm pissed because I was going to run this morning. Alas.

Last night was kind of random and awesome; I went to Elizabeth's to try and watch Smallville, but bad things happened and it was preempted by the SEC Tournament. So I went home and we watched it at 12:30.

Oh holy crow. It was INSANE. They've done product placement on that show before but... this was insane. Pete (one of my favorite characters from back when I actually watched the show with some semblance of seriousness) came back and gained superpowers through chewing gum. It was INSANE. Every five minutes, they'd be all "STRIDE GUM!" Then there was the thing with "One Republic"--some band I've never heard of but is apparently unremarkable--being EVERYWHERE. Lex is trying to kill Pete? Why not do it on a balcony underneath which is a GIANT CROWD OF PEOPLE IN A STRIDE GUM FACTORY LISTENING TO THIS BAND?

The awesome mockableness of it all was beautiful. I believe that if Dean ever goes to hell, it'll be to Smallville. Which is totally a way to explain S4 of Smallville. In case any of you were hoping for a crossover, there it is. Dean goes to hell, and has to date Lana for a year. Then is pushed off a cliff and shot. AND SURVIVES. Whenever I tell anyone about the crack that is Smallville, I always tell them about the day Jensen's character survived through sheer force of pretty. Ah, good times.

So. Where was I? Oh yeah. My bitterness and boredom. I was supposed to meet up with Sabrina to sew and dye hair today but it didn't pan out. So I'm hoping for tomorrow. Course, this means that I'll have to read some Machiavelli tonight if I'm hoping to not fail school spectacularly. So there's that.

To add to my pain, the sides for 3x14 came out today, so naturally I know the title and basic premise. Because my ability to stay spoiler-free is totally null when I'm confronted with the possibility of pretty boys. Plus, the title? You can't learn that title and just be okay with not knowing what the episode is about. I don't think we've ever had a title that WTF-y. Just saying, is all. :)

So hopefully tomorrow will be better, in a batman-cape-and-pink-hair way.

Batman. Batman, Batman.... BATMAN.

Batman. Joker.

Omg that trailer is full of way too much love. If there's anyone out there that missed the first 6-7 minutes of the movie in crappy bootleg quality footage, I've got it saved to my computer. So I can help you out. :) Just let me know.

So, yeah. Been obsessing about that. Went to see the Golden Compass two nights ago and thought it was pretty meh. I liked it, I'm interested in seeing a sequel, but I don't think it's going to happen. So I'm not getting obsessed. XD Besides, Hobbit! In 2009! Whoo! :D

Also, Rock Band. That's why I've been gone. I beat to "Enter Sandman" last night, and wow. Just, wow. Never thought I'd get to belt it out again for points. Bwahaha. I'm such a not-bad singer that I can play on Medium on vocals. I wish the guitar was a little harder, and that we didn't have one of the defective controllers, but eh. Such is life. I am also real at the drums. My brother fancies himself a drummer, though, so... I don't get to play other than by myself. He also has no sense of rhythm, so that makes that particular exercise painful.

Anyway, his friends are coming over tonight, and we're going to ROCK. YES. WE ARE. OH YES.

ROCK.

MY HAPPINESS CANNOT BE EXPRESSED WITHOUT CAPSLOCK RIGHT NOW.

SPOILERS FOR THE DARK KNIGHT )

So yeah. Really, REALLY excited for that. I don't think I'm going to let it have an impact on my costume, though. We're still gonna go as Batman, Robin, and The Joker. Speaking of, Sabrina found some awesome purple boots, and we're going to get two-toned tights, and the world is gonna be a great place. Oh yeah. :)

In other news, I can't stop watching clips from the Led Zeppelin reunion show last night. Seriously. I'd give my arms to see them.... I really hope they go on tour next year so that I can. Honestly.... highlight of forever. That's what it'd be. <3
